Lev Vaidman
Lev Vaidman (born September 4, 1955) is a Russian-Israeli physicist and Professor at Tel Aviv University, Israel. He is noted for his work in the area of quantum teleportation and the Elitzur–Vaidman bomb-testing problem in quantum mechanics. He was a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of The American Journal of Physics from 2007 to 2009. His work and the experiments which they have inspired have lent support to the many-worlds interpretation of quantum physics. In 2010, their experiment was chosen as one of the "Seven Wonders of the Quantum World" by New Scientist Magazine.

Shadows of the Mind: A Search for the Missing Science of Consciousness
Roger Penrose, 1994
This book asserts that human consciousness is not necessarily intelligible in terms of computational models. The brain's conscious activity essentially transcends the forms or possibilities of computation. Many Worlds?: Everett, Quantum Theory, & Reality
2012
What does realism about the quantum state imply? What follows when quantum theory is applied without restriction, if need be, to the whole universe? These are the questions which an illustrious team of philosophers and physicists debate in this volume. All the contributors are agreed on realism, and on the need, or the aspiration, for a theory that...

2007
The treatment of time in quantum mechanics is still an important and challenging open question in the foundation of the quantum theory. This multi-authored book, written as an introductory guide for newcomers to the subject, as well as a useful source of information for the expert, covers many of the open questions. The book describes the problems,...

The Elitzur–Vaidman Bomb-Testing Method | Azimuth
Quantum mechanics forces us to refine our attitude to counterfactual conditionals: questions about what would have happened if we had done something, even though we didn't. "What would the position of the particle be if I'd measured that... when actually I measured its momentum?" Here you'll usually get no definite answer. But sometimes you can…

Using quantum mechanics to detect bombs
How do you harmlessly reveal bombs that can be triggered by a single photon? With the Elitzur-Vaidman bomb tester. It's a hypothetical tester meant to test some highly hypothetical bombs. In theory, it makes a point about quantum mechanics. In practice, it actually works.
