List of Kapudan Pashas
The Kapudan Pasha (Ottoman Turkish: کاپیتان پاشا, Modern Turkish: Kaptan Paşa), literally and formerly known as the Captain Pasha and also known in Turkish as Kaptan-ı Derya ("Captain of the Seas"), was the grand admiral of the navy of the Ottoman Empire. Around 160 captains served between the establishment of the post under Bayezid I and the office's replacement by the more modern Ottoman Ministry of the Navy (Bahriye Nazırlığı) during the Tanzimat reforms.

Empires of the Sea: The Siege of Malta, the Battle of Lepanto, and the Contest for the Center of the World
Roger Crowley, 2009
Is the West engaged in a “clash of civilizations” with the Islamic peoples of the Middle East? According to Crowley, that clash occurred in the sixteenth century, when Islam, under the leadership of the Ottoman Turks, seemed poised to dominate most of Europe. The “impregnable city” of Constantinople had been taken in 1453, and by the beginning of t...

Suggestion: CK2's unit system in EU4.
I think CK2 had one of the greatest combat systems in any grand strategy game in recent memory. You had the classes of units - Heavy Infantry, Light Infantry, Archers, and others which all played a role in battle. Why isn't this being used in EU4, with the obvious adjustments for the Renaissance/Napoleonic eras? (Cuirassiers and Musketmen instead of Cavalry and Archers, for example.)

Crash on "Romaticist Cultural Achievements"
I was playing as the U.S.A., happily beating up on Mexico, and it crashed when this invention/event popped up (and I moused over the option) so, naturally I went to inventions and since I wasn't sure which Romanticist invention it was I changed the base modifiers to zero. (I later found that it was cumulative). I now believe that it is some sort of event EDIT: I think I was able to save/load past it. EDIT the 2nd: Nevermind, odd, given that I saved after the event happened If this has

Islamic DLC
When the game starts in 1066 it will be right in the middle of the Islamic Golden Age; none of the great libraries have been burned down yet, the ancient canals are still in pristine condition , none of the great cities have been destroyed, everyone is making books and translating the old roman works, al Khwarizmi has just invented algebra, and some scholars in Egypt and Syria are getting Greek medicine rolling again. This is interesting time period to play a sultan. You have maybe thirty

Usurping: What is it?
What is usurping, and what does usurping a claim accomplish? How would you explain this to someone who is completely ignorant to the term, specifically within the context of Crusader Kings 2? Sorry if there is another post on this or a general FAQ with usurp info included. I would be appreciative if someone could re-direct me there if possible.

SUGGESTION: Expanded search filters for characters!
Love the game, one thing I would really like to see in the future are expanded search filters for characters. I spend more time in game right now browsing through lists of characters for potential marriage candidates than anything else. Here is my suggestion! Add a customizable age filter, min and max age. Expand the culture filter. Allow me to search for any specific culture group. Add a stat filter. Allow me to search for any stat(s) for a minimum value.

Reclaiming Sicily: Declaring Holy War on the Muslim Vassals of a Sultan?
Playing as di Canossa in Tuscany. Schemed my way into getting my daughter matrilineally married to the hier to the Norman Kingdom of Sicily, then murdered the child king so my Son in Law would inherit. The inept idiot then promptly lost a Muslim jihad war for Sicily and came crawling home with his tail between his legs and now instead of a Christian kingdom of Sicily with my bloodline on the throne, I've got a muslim Sultanate of Sicily sitting at my back door. Modding the AI
Arite Naselus, I recall you posting many times that alot of problems could be solved if we could just mod the AI. Like give it goals and objectives and certain tendencies. However I can't find even one such post right now so I might be wrong. In any case... I think we possibly have a way to mod the AI! So, I was browsing through ALL of Captain Gars posts (don't ask why) and I stumbled upon a post in which he posted some VERY interesting links. Sadly, I closed that post, but
