Terry Sachen
"I Know There's an Answer" (additionally released with alternate lyrics as "Hang On to Your Ego") is a song by the American rock band The Beach Boys, taken from their 1966 album Pet Sounds. It is the ninth track on the album. The song was composed and produced by Brian Wilson in lyrical collaboration with bandmate Mike Love and the group's road manager Terry Sachen. It is characterized by its unusual juxtaposition of instrumentation which unfolds as the song progresses, which include tack piano, bass harmonica, banjos, saxaphones, flutes, and organ. The song was written as a reaction to Wilson's experiences with lysergic acid diethylamide; he later said: "I had gotten into that kind of thing. I guess it just came up naturally."

2003
In 1965, Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys released a revolutionary rock album that would influence the Beatles' Rubber Soul as well as the music of the Who, Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones. Soundthink: Jackpine Snag - "Omega Stump"
Well it's about time I live up to my own manifesto and actually write about a band from Lansing! The Jackpine Snag are a "grungy doom blues" band from Lansing that started in 2010. One of these guys was in a band called Gaytar that played Dischord-ish punk around a fair shake in like 2005, and one of them was in band that I once remembered seeing wear creepy wolf masks and suits at a Halloween show a few years back but whose name escapes me now.

Compuzzle: Long May You Run: The Social Network of Neil Young
Neil Young is certainly an enigmatic figure, and being a huge fan I am excited about his newly announced tour that will bring him through Cincinnati on May 3, 2011. An artist difficult to put in a box, with incredible creative output of movie projects, graphic novels, interactive Blu-ray Discs, designs for classic cars and tour vans that run on veg oil, anti-war music sharing websites, co-founder of FarmAid benefit concerts, and of course dozens of examples of great songwriting.
